This introductory program in work readiness explains the basic concepts of the job search process. Students will identify ways to improve their self-perception; enhance their interviewing techniques; understand the hidden rules of the workplace; learn team building skills to improve job retention; and effective decision making on the job. Students will have the opportunity to improve their interviewing techniques and practice the desired behaviors in these areas.

Skills for Taking Control of Your Life
This program provides the student with a foundation in life skills to help them take control of their lives and become successful employees. Students will develop decision-making skills for resolving problems related to social and economic change. Students will improve their understanding of themselves and how their self-perception affects their ability to stay employed. Students will identify personal barriers to success and ways to strengthen their personal capabilities. Basic financial management and time management will be discussed.

Essentials of Human Resource Management Certificate
The Essentials of Human Resource Management Certificate Program, offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), provides an overview of the human resource function and covers real-life HR issues and today’s most vital and timely topics, including employment law, selecting qualified employees, compensation, orientation and training, and the employee performance process.

If you’re new to human resources or simply want to strengthen your employee management skills, the Essentials of Human Resource Management Certificate Program is for you.  Knowledge of the essentials can make you a better manager, protect your company from needless litigation and help advance your career.  This cost-effective course covers real-life HR issues, including employment law, selecting qualified employees, compensation, the employee performance process, and much more.  You will be able to immediately utilize the knowledge and skills gained in your day-to-day job.

The Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³)
The IC³ training and certification program covers a broad range of computing knowledge and skills that proves competency in the areas described below. It is a globally accepted and validated credential that provides proof of your skills. Now, more than ever, basic computer and Internet skills are being considered prerequisites for employment and higher education. Individuals seeking IC³ certification are required to take and pass all three IC³ exams:

Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online

This program provides instructor-led training to you at any location (office, home, etc.) as long as you have access to the Internet through a browser. It uses a web-based training platform that allows instructors to use a whiteboard to put traditional face-to-face content—such as presentations—on every screen simultaneously. Instructors can write on the whiteboard to convey concepts, create interactive exercises, ask questions, and debate ideas in an effective environment. To keep students engaged, there is a rich interactive environment that can include two-way audio (so you can talk with the Instructor or other students), video, electronic “hand raises”, questions and answers, chat capabilities, a participants list and private messaging. “Realtime application sharing” lets you experience an application as if it were running on your own system, including every pull-down menu and dialog box.

Intro to Digital Photography
If you've ever wanted to learn how to take pictures with a digital camera, load them on your computer and send them to friends and family then this is the course for you. This course will focus on basic digital photography from turning on the camera to finding websites to upload your pictures to in order for people to view them. We will explore the topics the students are interested in.

Intro to the Internet
This beginner’s course introduces students to what the internet is today and how to use it. Instruction includes basic history of the internet, basic features of an internet browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, using general and specific search engines to search the web and internet sites, security of your computer and your personal information, as well as how basic technical introduction on how some websites work. Beginners experience with computers is helpful but not required. No textbook required.
